The Dallhouse office is located in my SW Portland home and accessed via a separate entrance. Outdoor sessions are always an option! Teletherapy is another convenient solution for families who are social distancing or may have difficulty accessing the office.

 

Whether services are provided in your home via teletherapy, or at the Dallhouse, we know you'll feel at home! Every session is thoughtfully planned using relevant, fun and functional evidence-based approaches. Caregivers are always invited and communication is essential to ensure optimal and lasting success.

Speech & Language Evaluations

Is your child slow to start talking? Difficult to understand? Struggling in school? Thorough evaluations to investigate how your child pronounces words, understands, and uses language and develop a treatment plan.

Following an evaluation, we will engage in individualized and engaging intervention focused on what is important to you, your child and your family. All sessions integrate all aspects of language to help increase participation and functioning across all areas.

Reading, spelling and writing assessments determine if your child has a written language disorder such as dyslexia and guide intervention. Oral language underlie written language difficulties. A thorough evaluation will help maximize the effect of intervention.

Project IMPACT Parent Training

Parent training is an essential component of successful early intervention and early childhood special education programs for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and social communication delays.   Project ImPACT (Improving Parents as Communication Teachers) is an evidence-based parent-training program that teaches parents to promote their child’s social-communication skills during daily routines and activities.  The program was developed by Anna Dvortcsak, MS, CCC-SLP and Brooke Ingersoll, PhD, BCBA-D.

Reading, Writing and Spelling Instruction

We will work together to target reading, writing and spelling difficulties efficiently using a combination of Structured Linguistic Phonics aka. speech-to-print approach (SPELL-LINKS, Reading Simplified, EBLI), Self-Regulated Strategy Developmenent and The Hochman Method. We will develop vocabulary, morphology, orthography and phonological in context using engaging text about a variety of topics. For optimal progress your child will be given home practice to support what we work on together.

Looking to have an in-depth discussion with a specialist about a child's needs? Leanne provides live consultations via video chat or over the phone. $82.50/hour (charged in 15-minute increments).

You are the expert on your child! Completed checklists and case histories (in addition to consent forms) enable me to plan a targeted evaluation.  

Evaluation

During the first session, we will engage in various tasks to gain an understanding of your child's speech and language strengths and weaknesses. We will work together to develop a plan of care with goals that are important to you!

Therapy

The length and frequency of our therapy sessions will be determined by your needs and goals. Regular attendance, consistent communication and completion of home practice will facilitate progress! 

ABOUT

MEET LEANNE

Leanne Dall , MHSc., CCC-SLP 
Owner, Speech Language Pathologist 

Leanne is an a ASHA certified, EBLI Certified pediatric speech language pathologist and mom of four.  She believes that the ability to communicate is one of the greatest gifts we give our children, as language is both a means and an end of learning.  She loves playing to elicit first words, supporting parental engagement, developing language skills and tackling decoding and comprehension skills that enable our children to optimally engage socially, functionally and academically.  Leanne is also the author of the Bjorem Speech Story Cue Card Deck, Past Tense Verbs and Spelling with Homophones Decks. Leanne knows what it is like to choose and work with a therapist for her children and tries to be the therapist she would love to work with. When she is not working, she is most often exploring local playgrounds and splash pads with her kids.

Experience

Leanne started Dallhouse Speech and Language almost five years ago, as an opportunity to work closely with families and provide meaningful, individualized, evidence-based assessments and interventions. She has nearly a decade of additional pediatric experience in the educational setting. She holds a MHSc. in Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Toronto and a BASc. in Psychology and Linguistics from McGill University.

Billing and Insurance

Dallhouse Speech and Language is an in-network provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Pacific Source Health Plans, Legacy Plus and United Healthcare. We also accept referrals from Kaiser. We are adding new insurances, so please contact us for more information. 

 

We also accept private pay clients and bill directly for for out-of-network insurance reimbursement. For many plans, out-of-network reimbursement covers a large percentage or we can apply for a single case agreement for your child.  We are happy to help navigate speech therapy benefits and reimbursement by communicating directly with your insurance.
